I'm sure you've probably been asked this question a million times. Being a musician and a lover of all things brutal it wasn't until a little later after I started playing guitar that I discovered heavy metal as a genre. What type of influences do you have outside of the metal genre and how has it helped or influenced your writing when it comes to metal? For example I've never been a shredder my bluesy southern rock roots come out in my soloing, even in metal.
I don't really have influences outside of the metal genre but as a kid I loved nwa, public enemy, nas, etc so maybe as far as cadence or word play they have had a sub-conscious influence? i dunno
Hey Jamey, You have the lyric police, which I love by the way and think you should have a shirt with all the banned words on the back listed like tour dates on a concert shirt. I just ask for some wink on the shirt for the idea. lol
My idea is to start a podcast phrase police or task force. The first word I would add is "HARD". Bro, I love you but, you killed the word on the last two podcasts. It was super funny once or twice but please retire the word as used in the way you have been using it.
Let me know what you think. Hit me up
