What inspired you to become a musician and how did you know it was singing that you were meant to do? P.S. Your music in Hatebreed is amazing and helps me face what I am feeling and all of the tragedies I've been through.
Thanks Zori, I guess I just wanted a way out of the city and what I was facing in school/work and with my family. Music gave me my outlet. Although I do remember always having this lump/burning sensation in my throat as a kid that would feel better when I growled or screamed. It may sound weird but even my mother remembers me growling/screaming at a young age haha now I've been doing it for a living for 20+ years!
You're gonna have to write James and the Metallica guys a lyric police citation! For "Rise and Fall" in Mother Into Flame.
Love the Podcast, stay heavy.
Something I'm wondering for years is that you play all songs of the first 3 Hatebreed albums live, even of the EP, but of the latest four albums you only play a couple of songs. Why is that? There are so many songs of the last album I never heard live. Can't wait to see you back in Holland again! XJamey Jasta responded on 12/07/2016
